at は点、in は空間、on は表面です。ものが動くと、その絵は道筋に変わります:to, into, onto, through, across, along。

at / to
She is at the gate. She walks to the gate.
in / into
The cat is in the box. It jumps into the box.
on / onto
The cup is on the shelf. It falls onto the floor.
at, in, on
|---|---|
| The students are waiting at the museum. |
| The students are in the museum. |
| There is a flag on the museum. |
| Leave it at the front desk. |
| There is a pen in the desk. |
| at | on | in |
|---|---|---|
| at 25 Hill Road(完全な住所) | on Hill Road(通りの名前だけ) | in the city center, in Brazil |
| at the corner(2 つの通りの角) | on the second floor | in the corner(部屋の隅) |
| at the top of the page | on page 40, on the menu | in the book, in the photo |
2 つの通りの角は at the corner ですが、部屋の隅は in the corner です。
- at が必要なのに in や on を使った
Let's meet in the main gate at noon.✓ Let's meet at the main gate at noon. - in が必要なのに at や on を使った

There's a spider in the ceiling.✓ There's a spider on the ceiling.
ルール: 場所を表す動詞には at, in, on を、移動を表す動詞には to, into, onto を使います。arrive には at か in を使い、reach と enter には前置詞をつけず、go や come の後の home と abroad にも前置詞をつけません。
|---|---|
| be, live, stay, wait, work at / in / on | go, come, move, travel, run to / into / onto |
| The kids are in the pool. | The kids dived into the pool. |
| Our friends live in Peru. | Our friends moved to Peru. |
|---|---|---|
| arrive | at + 建物や地点、in + 都市や国 | arrive at the stadium, arrive in Kenya |
| get (= arrive) | to + 目的地 | get to class on time |
| reach, enter, approach | 前置詞なし | reach the border, approach the gate |
| go, come, get | home, here, there, abroad, downstairs の前には前置詞なし | come here, get home late |
arrive at the stadium, get to the stadium, reach the stadium
誤り:arrive to
go や come の後の home と abroad にも to は使いません。
会話では、移動の動詞の後に in や on がよく使われます(jump in the lake, put it on the table)。
She is still to the library.✓ She is still at the library.be は移動を表しません。

| along / across | walk along the beach (its length); walk across the beach to the water (side to side). |
| over / past | fly over the city (above it); drive past the city (beside it, without entering). |
| to / toward | run to the car (you get there); run toward the car (you may stop before it). |
