AI Practice Prompts for TOEIC and IELTS Study

The prompts listed here are designed to help students prepare for standardized English Assessment Exams like TOEIC and IELTS.  The prompts will work, to varying degrees of success, with all the sites listed below.   More AI study prompts for various purposes can be found here.

Language Level Assessment

Please give me a 20-question English assessment quiz to test my language proficiency. Use this structure: 5 grammar questions (multiple choice), 5 vocabulary questions (multiple choice or fill in the blank), 5 reading comprehension questions (based on 1-2 short passages), and 5 short writing tasks (1-3 sentence responses to a prompt).
Distribute difficulty intentionally across the 20 questions, from roughly A2 to C2, rather than keeping it at one fixed level, so my performance shows where I start struggling rather than just a pass/fail at one level.
Give me one question at a time. Don’t assess or hint at correctness until the end.
After I complete all 20 and provide my answers, grade my responses, explain my mistakes, and give feedback on the writing tasks against clear criteria (grammar accuracy, vocabulary range, coherence). Then give me:
A CEFR estimate (A1-C2) broken down by skill area (grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing), plus an overall estimate
An approximate IELTS band range and TOEIC score range based on this performance
A brief note that these are rough estimates from a short, non-standardized quiz, not equivalent to an official test result.

Exam-based Prompts

TOEIC

TOEIC Part 5
Incomplete Sentences
I want to practice TOEIC Part 5 (Incomplete Sentences). In the main conversation window, give me one multiple-choice question at a time (4 options, labeled A–D), each a business or workplace-context sentence with one blank, cycling through common Part 5 categories rather than repeating one twice in a row: word form (noun/verb/adjective/adverb choice), verb tense and agreement, prepositions, pronouns, conjunctions/transitions, comparatives, relative clauses, and word choice/collocations.

Before showing each item, internally confirm exactly one option is grammatically and contextually correct and the rest are clearly wrong (not just less natural).

Start at intermediate difficulty. If I answer correctly, move to the next question. If I answer incorrectly, explain briefly in Korean why the correct answer is right and the others are wrong, then continue. After two consecutive correct answers, increase difficulty; after two consecutive incorrect answers, decrease it. Stop and give me a summary after every 10 questions. .

TOEIC Part 6
Error recognition
I want to practice TOEIC Part 6 (Text Completion). In the main conversation window, give me one short passage at a time (4-6 sentences, in the style of a business email, memo, notice, or advertisement) with 4 numbered blanks. For each blank, give 4 answer choices (A–D), only one correct, cycling through question types rather than repeating one twice in a row: word form/vocabulary, verb tense and agreement, prepositions/connectors, and one sentence-insertion question per passage (choosing the sentence that best fits a specific blank in context).

Before showing each item, internally confirm exactly one option is correct in context and the rest are clearly wrong.

I’ll answer all 4 blanks for the passage before you check them. Tell me which are correct, and for any incorrect ones, explain in Korean, then give me the next passage. Start at intermediate difficulty, increase after two full passages answered without error, decrease after two passages with errors. Stop and give me a summary after every 5 passages. .

TOEIC Part 7
Reading Comprehension
I want to practice TOEIC Part 7 (Reading Comprehension). In the main conversation window, give me one passage at a time (a single document such as an email, notice, article, or ad; occasionally two or three related documents together) followed by 2-5 questions with 4 answer choices each (A–D), cycling through question types rather than repeating one twice in a row: main idea/purpose, detail, inference, vocabulary-in-context, and (for multi-document sets) cross-reference questions.

Before showing each item, internally confirm exactly one option is correct based on the passage and the rest are clearly wrong.

I’ll answer all the questions for a passage before you check them. Tell me which are correct, and for any incorrect ones, explain in Korean, then give me the next passage. Start at intermediate difficulty, increase after two full passages answered without error, decrease after two passages with errors. Stop and give me a summary after every 5 passages.

TOIEC
Verb Tenses
Give me a TOEIC-style fill-in-the-blank question to practice verb tenses. Each question should have 4 choices. Before you present each item, internally verify that exactly one choice is grammatically and contextually correct. Make all other choices clearly wrong (e.g. ungrammatical or nonsensical in context). If I get the answer correct, automatically give me the next question. If I get it incorrect, provide an explanation in Korean and then give me the next question.

Before showing each item, internally confirm the correct answer is clearly supported (or clearly not stated, for Not Given items) by the passage.

I’ll answer all the questions for a passage before you check them.
